Description

Well, this one stems from another journal posting from the redoubtable :iconseane:
New Hex:TLT pencils by Keu Cha in his galleryBy now you've probably worked out that I'm a HUUUGGGE Keu Cha "Hex the Lost Tri be" fan and Keu's just gone and posted the pencils for a pinup for the 2012 Monsters and Dames ECCC charity book in a lovely inkable size....!!!

So, who would like to ink it for me...? :)

*looks in a casual but significant direction at my favourite DA inkers* :iconbenjonesart: :iconbdstevens: :iconfullname: :iconjoeydes: :icondevgear: :P

... and while you're there he's got a coupla nice commission pieces up as well - a witchblade and also a red sonja pic...

cheers
Sean

(slightly giddy to have journal thumbnails)

The pencils were a great piece done by :iconkeucha: whose Hex the Lost Tribe project has kind of got a lot of us quickly becoming fans.

So anyway, as he does, Sean posted in his journal - "Hey inkers, I've got this great idea..." To be honest, I haven't been super happy with the first two pieces I've attempted over Keu's work. With this pic - I feel like maybe I'm starting to get it a bit more. I don't know if I'm "there" yet, but progress I think.

Pencils: the awesome :iconkeucha:
Inks: the somewhat tolerable :iconbdstevens:
Originals:

Also check out the cool over-pencil colored piece that Keu posted

Okay, I'm going to do a critique because making a post that says "Nice Job" doesn't really do this piece any justice.

This is a really great job inking. You used the light and shadows really well, allowing for the features to pop into the foreground or fade back where needed. Also your use of line weight helped adding a ton of detail to Zorn and everything else adding some great delicate touches that would get missed if you didn't. Your use of blacks in higher shadow area is very tight and clean, making it so the shadows are more organic than hard and lifeless.

Spectacular Job on this.
