OK, even with a few... distractions tonight, I finally wrapped my first piece that I can post this month. An awesome Battle Chasers pic by Mike Bowden that Alonso Espinoza was kind enough to hook me up with the high res pencils for.
Battle Chasers, Crimson and Danger Girl represent kind of a milestone for me when I started seriously thinking about making comics again. Here was a group of creator-owned, brand new characters that were published at the absolute top end creative quality of what could be done with comics at the time. The art still stands out against the best of what's out there today and these books were put out like 10 years ago.
Watermarking this bad boy because it is spoken for, but I want to show it to you guys as big as I can. The thing about Mike's work, from what I've seen, is that it looks simple at a glance but as you get into it you find it's thousands of little details playing so well together that you just read it as great clean art. This was challenging but super fun to lay down. I haven't done a huge group shot like this in a while. Mike, if you check this out, I would definitely like to do this again.
heheh JK, I know it's "spoken for".
